Sweet Treats

Now let's just say the handyman isn't a romantic and with the fuss of Valentine's day approaching, I just wanted to acknowledge it doesn't have to be all the hype of hearts, flowers and chocolates!
To my sweetie, I say, I appreciate the glances I get across the room from you when we are out, turning on the heated seats in the truck for me, shoveling the driveway or the kisses goodnight and to the hard work you do in providing for me and our home!
Enjoy the simple gestures everyday.
So girls don't get disappointed in the event you do not receive the praise of love with gifts on Sunday...all you have to do is buy it yourself-that will get 'em going.
I however love giving gifts...so this year I am going to continue with my journey and practice of becoming better with my baking skills...so I intend on still making the Sweet Ass Cookies to share.
Now our weekend ahead is filled with family fun with Cousins weekend, so Sunday we will be enjoying a wonderful waffle brunch all together. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and again...its the little things that matter most!

Best Strawberry Sauce for waffles (or ice cream)
3 T. Brown sugar
1 T. Cornstarch
side note: Now these are tablespoons, not cups...when making my homemade mac n' cheese I happened to add 2 cups flour when really i just needed 2 tablespoons. Lesson learned to read the directions more closely!)
1/2 cup Orange Juice
1 pint Strawberries-washed, hulled and sliced into halves

Prepartion~
Combine the sugar, cornstarch and OJ in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Reduce heat to low. Stir in the strawberries and cook for 1 more minute.
Serve warm or chilled.

Enjoy the sweet treats of love this weekend!
