Mom's Home Cafe of good cooking. Now there is something to say you learn from the best...and one of the best recipes growing up was eating my Mom's homemade pizza. Although I have many cooking blunders-one being I blew up a glass pan when first cooking for the handyman to the recent misreading the measurements, I find myself at ease with making my version of homemade pizza!
Again...simple and easy and you can change it up everytime!
Here is how I make it..just like the box says ;)
Start with mixing the dough
I add in Italian Pizza Seasoning to the mixture.
Follow directions on box (I like the Jiffy brand..it has an old school logo)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Next is tricky...rollin' the dough. Let the dough sit for a little bit, then work it in your hands by starting to spead it flat.
Lay it in the center of your pan..good idea to spray first with non-stick Pam. Use your idex and middle finger together to press and work towards the edge. Next use the side of your thumb to press around to make the crust.
Bake the crust for only a few minutes. Gather your toppings.
I like to use Ragu Pizza sauce, Pepporoni and Mozzarella shredded cheese for the basics. Then add in other toppings of your choice like onions, mushrooms, black olives and our newest favorite of green olives!
Take out the crust and let cool. Here is the best part! Its like painting a picture-adding on the toppings. I personally put on all the sauce and layer the bottom with pepporoni, sprinkle some cheese, add on the the rest of the items and finish with more cheese.
Pop it in the oven for about 18 minutes...and Wham! Delicous, beautiful home made pizza!
