As we are still in the midst of the cold winter and stuck indoors, I have now started to be more intrigued to make new recipes and to try new things. however, sometimes it is just fun to go off of the recipe and make it as you think you should..well that's what i did last night. I love baked cheese..or the taste of the crisp edges, so I decided to make a baked spaghetti. Spaghetti is one of my favorite dishes and it is the first meal I made for my handyman when we were dating...except then I had a glass pan explode on me when browning the meatballs. I should have known then my cooking skills would be doomed in the eyes of my man (or is it just I'll never compare to mom). Anyways, back to supper last night...I simply cooked the spaghetti noodles, warmed up the sauce-yes, from a jar. Jake remembered to add in the frozen meatballs and canned mushrooms. We let that simmer. I then added the sauce to the drained noodles, stirred in a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and put into a casserole dish. Sprinkled with more moz cheese and also Parmesan cheese. I baked it for 15 minutes to get that crispy taste out of the cheese. Topped with Italian garlic bread sprinkle and baked another 3 minutes. Served and enjoyed! The handyman even gave me compliments and he sure ate up his plate! so simple, so yummy!
