Spring is in the air..and slowly we are reaching those summer time gatherings!
This weekend was filled with outdoor clean up at the Kring's. The family gathered to grandpa and grandma K's house for a day of raking, scrubbing, brushing, sweeping, and pushing as we cleaned up the yard, pulled weeds, piled wood, washed the camper and birdhouse room.
The lovely Spring breeze kept us cool as we worked all day...but nothing filled our hearts and belly's like the lunch break! BBQs, noodle salads and Grandma's famous potato salad made the day as we sat and enjoyed the outdoor smells, sun and air.
Sunday was another day full of outdoor gatherings as we shared in the Handyman's Godson's 9th birthday party. The kids ran around outside, played, chased bubbles as us adults hung out around the grill. A day relaxing and chatting in the sun, that included tropical drinks, hamburger and bratts and a few brewskies!
Here are a few recipes from the outdoor spring flings:
Chicken Noodle Salad
1 Box Shell or Elbow Noodles cooked
1 Large Can Chicken Breast
1 Cup chopped Celery
1 Cup chopped Green Olives
Jar Mayo
mix all together, add pepper and seasoning salt to taste. chill and serve.
Tropical Sippers
1/2 Cranberry Juice
1/4 Pineapple Juice
1/4 Cocunut Rum
Serve over ice and really enjoy it as it takes you to a tropical island, far far away!
