Hope you all had a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend as I did.
The mini vacation to Wisconsin Rapids sure was delightful. The handyman and I spent the 4 day weekend together..working and having a little fun.
Our Weekend Adventures started off on Friday as we got down to business around the house and yard. I started my morning with the inspiration of the sunshine beaming down and an MP3 player hooked up with my favorite GO list..as I took a 6 mile hike downtown Rapids.
That started off the day to then mow Grandma's lawn and to continue enjoying the outdoors. Later in the day, the handyman gave the doggies a bath-pictures to come on that. The summer night was enjoyed with cooking over the open bonfire in my new 4 qt. dutch oven and laying in the fresh warm air in our hammock.
Saturday day was a day fun in the sun as well. We spent the day cruising in the boat with Josh. Waiting in the cool waters up at the sandbar and having a few Margarita Mikes Hard Lemonades.
Sunday was an enjoyable afternoon with Jake's Grandparents. Sometimes things remind us in life just what is important and family sure is. We had a nice visit and helped with a few yard chores and watering the flowers.
Sunday evening we enjoyed dinner out at our favorite spot-el Mezcal! yummy as always.
We then bought our fishing license..bonus to being married-Discount on our yearly passes. We hit the shoreline of Nepco Lake to catch a few 2-incher pan fish and to my surprise cray fish. Another delightful evening in the fresh air.
Monday was spent relaxing and watching Deadliest Catch-those guys have nothing on me..my cray fish were pretty big. I met my Mom for an afternoon of shopping. The hunt for wedding shoes is on. As I got home, the handyman had the kayaks and truck loaded. We hit the other side of Nepco and got out on the water. We enjoyed a new adventure of fishing from the kayaks. We took home a dozen pan fish..so tonight..fresh fish dinner. Last night then we enjoyed another dutch oven recipe over the open fire..Campfire Potatoes!
More recipes and pictures to come this week from our weekend wonders!
Simply Enjoy!
